Looking for hobbity horses

One night at work, we were talking about things we had as kids and somehow it turned to what I call a hobbity horse. It's basically a plastic horse on springs connected to a frame. Karen remembered she had one and sent me a picture of her riding hers on Christmas morning. I turned it into a video and Karen said I could post it on my blog if I repeated the story about my hobbity horse. I don't think Mama and Daddy will mind so here it goes:

So I had this hobbity horse when I was a kid. I loved riding it but when I rode it, the springs on it would make a sound like the old mattresses/boxsprings did if someone was jumping up and down on them -- or , errr, doing something else on them. It was the kind of mattress and boxsprings my parents had. Considering they had four boys within six years, they were probably pretty squeaky. One night while I was sleeping I heard what I thought were the squeaky springs of my hobbity horse going to town and I yelled out, "Who's riding my hobbity horse?" My mom's voice answered, "Your daddy but he's almost done. Go back to sleep."

That's my story .... Here's the video:

When I showed Natalie the picture of Karen and her horse, Natalie said she thought she also had one. She found some pictures at her mom's house of her on her horse on Christmas morning in 1973. She was 20 months old. Anyone else have pictures of yourself on a hobbity horse or playing with your favorite toy on Christmas morning? Send them to me and I'll put them up in a gallery. ... Send a photo or two and a little info about it (what year, etc.) to brothersgentry@yahoo.com. I'll put them up for Christmas morning and you can all come back to see what some of you looked like back then and what kind of things you got. Don't make me call you out by name. I know some of you have old pictures. Don't celebrate Christmas? That's OK. Send something anyway....

I might just have a picture around here somewhere! And, I love the story. Kinda reminds me of the anchor story. You'll have to ask Bug about that. TLC

I'm sure Pops won't mind. Makes him sound like a stud. Now Mama on the other hand... That might cost me.
