Way back When-sday

These pictures weren't dated but go back to the late 1940s to early 1950s. The top one is of Mama sitting on her oh-so-cool new bike on the front porch of what was then their home in Roxboro, N.C. Her brother Tony is standing with her. The photo at right is of Pops eating a piece of watermelon about as big as he is. Is it just me or do those shorts of his look like culottes?
