If you can afford a few bucks ....

Just Mara, author of Whole Lots o' Nothin', one of the blogs I like to read, is taking part in the Walk to Cure Diabetes in September in Spokane, Wash. She wrote about it here, including a link if you'd like to donate a few bucks. I don't donate to a lot of causes because I've never been one that was able to save much money in order to be able to do it. (Although I did get suckered into a stupid Em Effing Police/Law enforcement/Trooper fundraiser one year where you got three sample size bottles of steak sauce for 100 bucks. What a crock of shit.)

Anyway -- My available funds are changing some now due to better financial management [translation: less stupidity] on my part, so I donated a little from Natalie and I. It's our way of honoring people we've known -- and hopefully helping people we know -- who have had or do have diabetes. If you can do the same, the link is above. If not -- Just Mara is still worth reading. You can always find her link over to the right.

And Esteban, I swear I will donate the next time you do the Polar Bear Plunge as you did in 2004 and again in 2005 and once again in 2006.
