Celebrating No. 300 with a thank you
This is my 300th post since starting this blog in the early morning hours of March 2 of this year. That first post was about how close my three younger brothers and I have stayed over the past 34-40 years. So it is appropriate that I mark this 300th post by thanking a few people who helped keep us together -- the volunteer firefighters from Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 of Chesapeake City, county paramedics from Cecil County Emergency Medical Services and troopers from the Maryland State Police. In September it will be five years since all of you -- and a nearby resident who called 911 -- helped make sure one of my brothers would still be here today. Another driver swerved into his lane and hit his truck head on. Thankfully, you men and women were there and my brother, as well as the man whose Jeep hit him and another man whose car hit the Jeep, all survived.
(NOTE TO MAMA: Let Pops watch this first. He'll tell you whether you should watch it or not.)
UPDATE: YouTube was doing some work this morning. If you see a white rectangle below, make sure you refresh your screen ...
Thank you all again for being there and keeping "brothers gentry" whole ....

Oh my god.
I am so happy for your family that your brother lived. Looking at the pictures, I would have thought someone had to have died.
OMG Jeff!! I didn't know this! This is incredible - that someone took these pictures - that your brother survived this. It seems impossible. He must be one tough hombre and those emergency personnel guys are definitely earth angels. Hooray for them and hooray for you and your family that you are all together.
