Water sure is cold ... Yeah, and it's deep, too

The News Journal in Wilmington, Del., has a story in today's paper about Canal Day.

As dredgers sucked up sediment, they found the evidence of Canal Days past -- beer bottles and, more noticeably, shiny, Mardi Gras-type beads. The beads still shine through sediment piles near corps engineer James Tomlin's office near Chesapeake City.

so where do we park?

are we all going donwn to the water, or hanging at your house?

It's a free play recess ....
People usually do a bit of both ...

Parking is $5 per car and includes the shuttle from the levees into town... it's a short ride and you could just walk. There are a few premium spots at the house that go to family and a few people that have come every year so far. And since you asked those two questions, I can safely assume you aren't one of those frequent flyer club members.

I'll bet Dolores will open her "D's Big Bucks Park-n-Pay" on Mt. Nebo...premium spots!

Your car is safely out of the riff-raff and heavily guarded by a big slobbering yellow lab.

And the money goes to a very good cause. Every woman needs cute new shoes and purses.

what about parking under the bridge...?

That's gone early and residents have first dibs... but people do luck out and get spots.
